The essence of lightning is that when the electric charge in the lightning cloud constantly changes and increases, the electric field strength will change and strengthen accordingly, so it can be realized by monitoring the change of electric field strength, and analyzing the change trend can predict whether there is lightning strike.


The interaction between solar wind, plasma and magnetosphere constitutes the atmospheric electric field layer between solar wind and magnetosphere. The electric field intensity ranges from +500v/m to -500v/m in weather conditions, and from +2kv to -2kv when thunderstorms are near. The electric field intensity can be increased to more than 15kv when thunderstorms appear. (Note: At different sea level, the value is slightly different)


The occurrence of thunderstorms is relatively complex, but the change process is relatively slow, generally takes about 30 minutes, through the real-time monitoring of the abnormal changes in atmospheric electric field, it is found that the change law of the imminent lightning strike, and comprehensive reference to a variety of data can be analyzed and forecast for thunderstorms.
