1.Principle of ammonia nitrogen monitor

The principle of the ammonia nitrogen monitor is that after the water sample is mixed with the masking agent, it reacts with the salicylic acid chromogenic reagent to form a colored complex. The analyzer detects the color change and converts the change into an ammonia nitrogen value and outputs it. The amount of colored complex formed is equivalent to the amount of ammonia nitrogen. In alkaline medium (pH=11.7), the ammonia and ammonium ions in the sample react with the hypochlorite released from the sodium dichloroisocyanurate solution to generate chloramine; at 40°C, it reacts with sodium nitrosoferricyanide In the presence of chloramine, chloramine reacts with salicylate to form a blue-green compound, and the absorbance is measured with a spectrophotometer at a specific wavelength.
