Campus meteorological science base is a good place for meteorological science activities, which can disseminate knowledge of meteorological science and cultivate everyone's awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation.

Campus weather stations should be installed in an open surrounding, avoiding tall buildings to ensure accurate data. At the same time, the sensor should avoid strong radiation equipment, such as transformers, to avoid interference.

Campus weather station design scheme:

First, select open and smooth ground to build observation field, preferably with uniform grass layer, surrounded by fences, no crops.

Second, the observation field equipment layout does not interfere with each other, convenient observation.

Third, the instruments are arranged in order of height, high in the north, low in the south, east and west into rows.

As a meteorological science centre on campus, the site not only provides real-time meteorological observation data, but also integrates a wealth of scientific content on disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge. Students can personally visit and operate the advanced meteorological observation equipment, intuitively feel the process of generating meteorological data, and gain a deeper understanding of the formation principles of meteorological phenomena. Through participation in popular science activities, students can also learn how to cope with natural disasters, reduce disaster losses and other practical knowledge, and truly feel the infinite charm of meteorological science and technology.

Students can personally operate weather instruments, observe and record weather data in real time; listen to meteorologists explaining weather changes and disaster knowledge; participate in fun quizzes on meteorological knowledge; make simple meteorological tools with their hands; take part in disaster prevention drills and learn self-rescue skills; and take turns to broadcast the weather on campus to remind everyone to pay attention to the changes.

These activities are both simple and interesting, allowing students to experience the charm of meteorological science and technology and enhance their awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation.
