1. Principle of Total Phosphorus Analyzer
Total Phosphorus Analyzer is used to monitor the content of total phosphorus based on ammonium molybdate spectrophotometry.Under high temperature and high pressure conditions, the sample is digested with potassium persulfate, and all phosphorus-containing compounds in the sample are converted into orthophosphate (this step is not required for measuring orthophosphate).In 5%-8% nitric acid solution, orthophosphate forms a soluble phosphovanadium-molybdenum yellow complex with ammonium metavanadate and ammonium molybdate.Its absorbance is measured at a specific wavelength.The absorbance is consistent with the orthophosphoric acid content of the sample.There is a linear relationship with salt concentration.Based on this relationship, the absorbance can be converted into the total phosphorus (TP) or orthophosphate (PO4) concentration value of the sample.
