Shengjin Lake, located in Dongzhi County, Anhui Province, is the famous "Crane Lake" in China. Due to the mild climate, excellent water quality and lush natural vegetation, it is an important site for rare migratory birds to overwinter, so it has precious research value. It is reported that Shengjin Lake has a total of 142 species of birds, many of which are protected by the state. In 1986, Shengjin Lake was listed as a national key waterfowl nature reserve.

Shengjin Lake is not only an important ecological tourism resource, but also an important bird protection area. In order to protect precious ecological resources, automatic hydrological monitoring stations are installed on the lakeside to monitor rainfall, flow rate and water quality in time.

Hydrometeorological station is an important technical means to ensure the safety and effectiveness of water conservancy projects. In hydrometeorological observation, the commonly used monitoring methods mainly include real-time data acquisition and historical data analysis. Among them, the former obtains a large amount of real-time climate information such as temperature, precipitation, evaporation and wind speed through sensors or computers, while the latter processes these climate information and extracts corresponding characteristic parameters. With the continuous expansion of the scope of human social and economic activities and the rapid development of science and technology, hydrometeorological monitoring has become an indispensable part of modern water conservancy construction, and has increasingly shown its huge advantages and functions.
