Photosynthetically active radiation meter, also known as photosynthetically active radiation sensor, is mainly used to measure the photosynthetically active radiation of natural light in the wavelength range of 400-700nm. It is easy to use and is widely used in agricultural meteorology and crop growth research. The photosynthetically active pyranometer can be directly connected to a digital voltmeter or data collector and can be used under all-weather conditions.

The sensor uses a silicon photodetector and passes it through a 400-700nm optical filter. When there is light, a voltage signal proportional to the intensity of the incident radiation is generated, and its sensitivity is proportional to the cosine of the direct angle of the incident light. Each photosynthetically active pyranometer gives its own sensitivity (original millivolt voltage output) ), the value in unit μ·mol/m2·s can be calculated directly.
