1. Product introduction of open channel radar flowmeter

Open channel radar flowmeter is also called integrated open channel flowmeter and non-contact radar flowmeter. Open channel radar flowmeter is an instrument used to measure the liquid flow in channels discharged from non-standard culverts, channels, and openings. It adopts the flow rate method combined with hydrology and fluidology. The river flow velocity is combined with the water level and flow section to calculate the water flow rate. The open channel radar flow meter mainly consists of a radar flow meter and a radar water level meter. The flow meter is used to collect the surface flow velocity of the fluid, and calculates the average flow rate of the water cross section through model calculation, and then combines the water level and cross section information measured by the water level meter to calculate the flow cross section. area, and then use the formula flow rate = average flow velocity × flow cross-sectional area × correction coefficient to obtain the flow rate, where the correction coefficient is calculated based on the standard value obtained from the actual measurement environment.

3. Selection of open channel radar flowmeter measuring channel section

The selection of measuring channel sections is directly related to the accuracy of measuring flow. In order to obtain better measurement results, the measuring channel sections should try to meet the following conditions:

1. There are no huge rocks blocking water in the test canal section, and there are no huge whirlpools, turbulence and other phenomena.

2. The test canal section should be straight, stable, and have concentrated water flow.

3. The test channel section needs to be hardened, and the measurement section should be regular.

4. The test channel section should be kept smooth to prevent accumulation of floating objects.


4. Precautions for installation of open channel radar flowmeter

1. Install the flow meter, water level meter and flow meter radar without obstruction, otherwise the measurement accuracy will be affected.

2. When installing the flow meter, try to ensure that the upper surface of the housing is level and install it in the middle of the channel.

3. It is recommended that the current meter beam should face the direction of the incoming water, as shown in Figure 3-3, and the horizontal angle to the direction of the water flow should be 0 degrees.

4. The flow meter is only affected by dynamic targets. When the channel is hardened and there are no weeds or trees, even if the beam irradiates both sides of the channel, it will not affect the flow measurement.
