The device's built-in compass automatically aligns to due north and transmits data via wireless technology. It is also equipped with a component-free ultrasonic wind speed and direction sensor that requires no calibration.

Each unit is housed in a specialized instrument case designed to be lightweight and easy to carry. The built-in rechargeable lithium battery allows the weather station to run for long periods of time without an external power supply, making it easy to use right out of the box.
